They may hold chauvinistic views or feel threatened when a woman tries to act dominant or independent. Rape for them becomes an act born out of the urge to show their power or to humiliate a woman. Sometimes the feelings of lust in them goes out of control and blinds their rational thinking, so rape becomes a act of satisfying their animalistic drive. Some men are born with a hormonal disorder that makes them criminally inclined. A higher testosterone count along with a chromosomal disorder leads to their brain getting wired to acts of violence. They look at sex as a violent act in and by itself, so they have an inherent proclivity towards committing an act of violence like rape. These men hardly even feel a tinge of remorse for their behavior. The streak of violence in them gets triggered by the slightest provocation, for instance if a woman talks to them in a deprecating manner or insults them in any way. So rape, in their own mind, becomes an act of perpetrating violence and humiliating the other person. Rape in most cases is committed in groups; the logic behind this is that some men feel more empowered and willful when they are in a group. They may not commit rape if they were alone, but when they are bound in a group their latent tendencies come to the surface as they feel impervious. A group of men who have certain violent traits in them can easily submit to the animalistic drive towards perpetrating rape if they find the opportunity. They almost act like hyenas that become dangerous when in a pack. <h2>The idea of rape is repulsive</h2> Most normal men are completely repulsed by the idea of raping someone in real life. The very thread of humanness within us prevents us from willfully being violent towards another human being. There are some men who would fantasize about rape, watch movies relating to rape or even talk about it with their friends but would deeply know rape to be wrong and find it impossible to commit it in real life. They may even feel terribly guilty about fantasizing about rape. It is common knowledge that there are some women who like to fantasize about being raped but only as a sexual dream, they would never want it to be a reality. Some men dream the same way about committing rape but would never do it in reality. The animalistic urges within us can sometimes blind the best of us. A man who seems completely balanced and normal can give in to the momentary impulse of lust and end up raping a woman almost blinded by his urge. But the fact remains that a man who does commit such an act is unbalanced in some way and does not have the stability required to live in a society. The difference between animals and humans lies in our ability to define right and wrong, some men unfortunately lack this acumen or just give in to their animal side. We see many instances of rape in the news nowadays which speaks of increasing degradation of humanness and moralistic foundations. Any society has its share of criminal elements and some men are more prone to violent behavior due to their hormonal imbalance, they become a menace to the society. Fortunately most men are well in touch with their humanity and work towards protecting the society.
